What are the Different Types of Facade Glass?

Image
The term Facade means the front of a building or exterior faces of a building. The huge glass buildings you see in cities require a certain quality of glass to sustain for a long time. The glass comes in various thicknesses, sizes, shapes, laminations, and sun-ban attributes. These glasses are different from usual ones; they are customized, put under force and pressure to make them sturdy and durable, crafted into different shapes, and glazed with protection layers. Quality is the foremost priority while designing as it has to be prepared to prevent the occupants from wild winds and seismic conditions. Keeping a note of the weather of India, the facade glass is categorized into 3 ranges namely Advanced Solar Control, Advanced thermal insulation, and Advanced solar control & thermal insulation. The first range of glass; advanced solar control has two products: SGG cool-lite and SGG antelio plus. SGG cool-lite prevents UV rays, allows natural light to the interior, and permits optim...

Is toughened Glass Unbreakable?

Somewhere between architectural advancements and creative interiors, glass has acquired the position as an actively used building material. From windows to cabinets, there is no such place where glass cannot be used. Though seemingly fragile, the glass industry has achieved strength and high durability. Tempered or Toughened glass is one such advancement that is highly durable in extreme conditions. Here, three types of modes are used to heat the glass. The process involves conduction of heat and ensures that the glass is evenly heated on every side. By blasting air on both surfaces, the heated glass is then cooled uniformly. It is five times stronger than annealed glass with resistance to thermal breakage that helps to add an added layer of safety for homes that have children or the elderly. It can withstand extreme surface compression. Toughened Glass has a wide range of applications from doors, floors, staircases, windows, partitions and balustrades as it is an extremely safe form...
